New English Ballet Theatre (NEBT) is a dynamic ballet company dedicated to creating exceptional dance experiences for the widest possible audience. I have been working with NEBT since 2019 on creating and implementing their audience development & social media strategies, e.g. by introducing the consistent use of Audience Spectrum segments to the company’s campaign planning. In 2020 I created NEBT’s digital anniversary campaign, #NEBTTurnsTen, and I promoted the company’s two exclusively digital seasons in 2020 & 2021 due to the effects of COVID-19, achieving a steady increase of NEBT's digital audiences and engagement.

Hofesh Shechter Company is a renowned contemporary dance company led by Hofesh Shechter, “one of the most exciting artists making stage work today.” During my 2.5 years as Marketing Manager with the company, I was responsible for implementing and developing the company’s audience development and digital strategies, and for setting up and managing the company’s audience data collection and analysis. I also delivered the marketing campaigns for Hofesh Shechter’s touring productions of Grand Finale and SHOW (Shechter II).

Stopgap is an internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company that creates inclusive productions with disabled and non-disabled dancers for national and international touring. As Communications Manager (maternity cover) during the COVID-19 pandemic I was mainly responsible for developing, implementing and managing digital campaigns to promote Stopgap’s wealth of work and elevate the profile of the company. In this role I initiated a new series of ‘Signature Blogs’, aiming to strengthen and affirm the company’s voice and recognition as an industry leader in inclusive dance.

Pavilion Dance South West (PDSW) is a centre for excellence for dance and dance venue in Bournemouth. As Head of Marketing, I was responsible for the creation, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based audience development, communications, marketing and digital strategies, which led to an increase in audience numbers by more than 30% between 2012/13 and 2016/17. In 2013 I led on rebranding the organisation (see gallery) and on launching a new website to merge its two different public identities into one coherent, strong and recognisable brand.

Breathing Room by Milton Keynes-based artist Anna Berry is a walk-in kinetic light installation that combines organic and machine elements into a unique sensory experience. It invites you into a gently illuminated tunnel lined with 28,000 cones that ‘breathe’ like a living organism. I delivered the marketing campaign for Breathing Room on its 2021 world premiere and festival tour to Milton Keynes International Festival, Spare Parts Festival, Crewe, WordFest, Wakefield and Bright Nights Festival, Gloucester.

BEAF (Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe) is an annual independent arts festival in Bournemouth with both indoor and outdoor elements. In 2019 I worked with the festival to create and implement a strategic audience analysis and marketing / communications plan.
As a result, media coverage for the festival increased considerably, BEAF 2019 visitor numbers nearly doubled the figures from the 2018 festival, and improvements in marketing were noted and commented on.

I delivered a creative, digital marketing campaign for their production RATLab, an interactive show about bio-mechanical engineering aimed at 7 - 11 year old school children in Key Stage 2, mainly featuring puppet characters of rats, a dog and a rugby playing pig. The production is designed to frame STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) as exciting, creative and diverse.

As Heritage Manager at the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds I devised and produced a series of events that helped to diversify and increase audiences for the Theatre's heritage programme. These included curating a set of interpretation panels and displays (design by Kersey and Balme), developing guided tours, delivering public lectures and hosting open days and on-stage demonstrations of Georgian stage craft. As dramaturg I contributed to choosing the heritage repertoire and wrote the programmes for the Theatre’s heritage productions.
